Arlington Foot and Ankle is bringing a new treatment...
Sever’s disease is a condition in the back of the heel that affects children, those particularly active in sports. The prevalence of Sever’s disease occurs during running and jumping at the age of 10 to 12 years old in males and 8 to 11 years old in females. This is a common finding in team sports, particularly in more natural fields being converted into artificial turf and the intensity of travel team sports (http://www.arlingtonmagazine.com/September-October-2015/Weighing-the-Travel-Team-Option/). Common treatments include heel cups, stretching exercises, icing, and elevation. Compression sleeves are something else that Dr. Pearl employs because of their low profile.
